Overview


Basketball is a team sport in which two teams opposing each other on a rectangular court compete with the primary objective of shooting a ball through a defender's hoop, while preventing the opposing team to shoot on their own hoop. A field goal scores two or three points, while a successful free throw resulting from an opponent's foul is worth one point.

History


Swimming is a skill developed by humans since time immemorial as a means of being able to cross bodies of water such as rivers and lakes – a fact widely based on cave paintings dating back from around 14 000 years ago during the Stone Age. Written records of the sport from 2000 BC likewise exists. Competitive swimming is not widely practised. However, in early 1800s The National Swimming Society of Great Britain began holding competitions in man-made indoor pools. Such competitions became popular in England and it led to the formation of Amateur Swimming Association in 1880.

• via EDSA/Alabang: Take a UP-Philcoa (can also be -Pantranco or -SM North) jeepney on one of the loading points in the University. Alight at the Petron gas station at Philcoa area. Take a bus going to Alabang. Alight at the Metropolis Bus Station. Board a bus going to Sta. Rosa, Laguna (a signboard reads Los Baños/College). Alight at Lopez Avenue. Walk a few meters straight and turn right to El Danda Street. You may board a pedicab or walk a few more meters to Trace College.
• via Quezon Avenue/Taft: Take a UP-Philcoa (can also be -Pantranco or -SM North) jeepney on one of the loading points in the University. Take an FX going to Buendia and alight at the bus terminal near Buendia LRT station. Board a bus going to Sta. Rosa, Laguna (a signboard reads Los Baños/College). Alight at Lopez Avenue. Walk a few meters straight and turn right to El Danda Street. You may board a pedicab or walk a few more meters to Trace College.
• via Katipunan/Taft: Take a UP-Katipunan jeepney on one of the loading points in the University. Alight at the terminal (near Mini-stop, under the bridge). Take the LRT Line 2. Either way, alight at the Recto station of LRT-2 and take the connecting pathway to LRT Line 1. Board LRT-1 and alight at Buendia station. The bus terminal is across the street. Board a bus going to Sta. Rosa, Laguna (a signboard reads Los Baños/College). Alight at Lopez Avenue. Walk a few meters straight and turn right to El Danda Street. You may board a pedicab or walk a few more meters to Trace College.
